Saturday on the Bridal Shower Weekend!

Sarah D, Maria, Me, Amber, Becky, Lisa G and my Mum (who came along and very kindly paid for breakfast as a wee bridal shower present for Amber! too kind!!)

We then went onto Zen Lifestyle Spa and they shut up their shop so we could use it exclusively! Such a good thing to do if there are 8+ of you!

We took the left overs from the party on Friday and we also indulged with some prosecco/ bubbles... I was only having a pedicure so I just sat and ate and drunk for the whole afternoon!! ooops!!

I have some cute photos of us goofing around there so will have to post them once I have downloaded my camera images!

Amber's Bridal Shower Weekend!

AMBER

Well I previously posted the invites that my sister and I did for Amber's Bridal Shower Weekend!

It didn't take much time at all before the weekend was upon us when we celebrated our Amber Lindsey becoming Amber Goldapple!! (her and David's wedding is on the 14th of September!)

At the Bridal Shower on the Friday night: Sarah Crawford Wilkinson, Zara Hornibrook, Maria Sloper, Amber, Lisa Derr, (Sarah Duncan hiding at the back!) Me, Becky and Lisa Goldapple!

Becky really did an amazing job on the whole weekend. Our itinary was as follows!

Friday night: Traditional 'American' Bridal Shower for our American Girl!
Sat AM: Breakfast at 10am at Montpelliers in Brunstfield
Sat PM: Pampering at Zen Lifestyle at 1.30pm onward.
Sat Evening: Dinner at Oloroso Restaurant at 7.30pm followed by drinks and dancing at Tiger Lily and Lulu!

I have some photos that are still on my camera but for now here are Becky's photos!

Becky bought these awesome balloons from the local decoration shop- they were huge!!

I was laughing at Amber and Becky when they took this photo as they both look like they are auditioning for Miss America! They have such a similar look!

Everyone brought a dish to Becky's. As I only arrived off my flight at 9pm I had some pretzels and store bought tray bakes tucked in my luggage!! (Never empty handed!)

Amber's Mum had sent over some photocopies of her childhood photos- so cute!! I think she was pretty embarrassed but we loved it! She hasn't really changed!

After we'd had some food Amber opened her gifts! Her mum sent the cutest stuff! Including a back massager- it was a big hit with the two Lisa's!!

Becky had then organized some Mr and Mrs questions for Amber to answer about David. She had also asked David some questions on Amber and so she had to guess if he got them right or wrong... it was lots of fun and meant we learnt more about both Amber and David!!

My hero pouncing to victory!!

Since I am down in London I am missing out on Nathan's start to the rugby season.

My Dad was along watching him this Saturday and what a game he had.. they won- just!! with a little help from my hero!!

One website said-'Nathan Pike was the Accies hero as he pounced for the winning try as they pipped County in a thrilling encounter at Raeburn Place.'

Here is the scotsman report ....but the funniest is one report on the Sunday that called him Mason Pike!! So he's decided it should be his alter ego!! Oh dear!! I worry about what sort of mischief 'Mason Pike' gets into whilst I'm away!!

I'm so pleased they won their game and I'm very proud of Nathan- I wish I could have been there!! (I miss him loads!!)

My Mum's Balcony!

My Mum's flat- where I am staying whilst I am in London is in Fulham. It is not huge (as London flat's don't tend to be) but she has beautifully furnished it and the space is really nice.

I particulary love her small balcony off her bedroom.

She has always loved her garden and now she doesn't have one she makes full use of her outdoor space.

The first weekend I was there we sat out and drunk Japanese tea and read the papers! Divine!

Unfortunately since then the weather has been horrid!! But I thought you'd like to see the photos.

Olympic Closing Ceremony and looking forward to London 2012!

The weekend of the Bank Holiday weekend my Mum and I watched the closing ceremony of the Beijing Olympics 2008. The Chinese display was AMAZING! There uniformity was astounding!
I felt very proud seeing Chris Hoy, a British cyclist (although he is Scottish) flying the British flag- he was choosen by the British Athletes to represent them as the flag bearer after winning 3 gold medals in different cycling disiplines- the sizes of that man's legs- I would have given him a medal for them alone!! (I'm a leg lady what can I say!)

Nathan's giving Chris a run for his money in the muscley leg stakes, with all the cycling he doing at the moment!! And with Nathan's 38' leg measurement he certainly keeps my attention- so no need to worry about that!!

I knew where the organizers of London 2012 8 minute display were coming from. London is very diverse and eclectic but I think they kind of lost out on making a huge impact! I liked the high tec bus though!
But the funniest bit of the London part of the ceremony was Boris Johnstone, London's Mayor flying the Olympic flag... he was so nervous and clumsy! But I actually thought it was quite endering- I think he was a little over awed by the whole thing!

The crowds in the Mall in London celebrating being the new Olympic City!

The Tudors!

It might be all this Elizabethan influence over the last weekend but my Mum and I decided to buy (well I wanted to and she bought) the Tudors Series 1. I have seen this programme in passing but had never got into it properly.

But I can safely say I am now addicted!!

'The Tudors is a historical fiction TV series created and entirely written by British screenwriter Micheal Hirst. The series is loosely based upon the early reign of English monarch Henry VIII.'

Henry VIII is the English King who had 6 wives- which he mostly had beheaded!! And so it weaves an interesting story! He is also the reason there was a large divide between the Catholic Church and Protestants in the UK.

His daughter was Elizabeth the I so as we are only on his second wive in the second series and they've commissioned a third for 2009.. The Tudors could go on forever!!

Nando's

Nathan is a huge fan of Nando's!! Whilst I have been down in London he is delighted that a new restaurant has opened up by our flat in Edinburgh.

He was gutted as he missed out on the first night but him and a group of the guys went on the Wednesday!

I took this photo for him... I think he could live on chicken alone!! (well maybe not... but he'd enjoy trying!)
