Flat Update!

Nathan moved back into our flat this past week after checking out our festival visitors who left the place SO tidy!! They really looked after the place which really pleased me- as you do worry!

I think we've pretty much signed them up for next year too!!

But to ensure we are okay for money- with me still not having anything permanent (freelance is great but there is no certainty) We have decided to rent out our 2nd bedroom.... but it's not bad at all as Nathan's friend from rugby, Ed (who is Argentina) has moved in.

Both Nathan and I get on really well with him and his girlfriend Wendy (you'll have seen pictures of them in my blog before) Wendy will be staying there a while as her new flat is being done up but they are such welcome additions to our home.

It was weird going back this weekend and having not been in the flat for a month and everything has changed!!! We still don't have all our stuff out of storage either so it doesn't quite feel like home.

It will probably take some getting used to- especially as now I will be living with 2 really tall, large rugby players! They take up a lot of space!!

Suprisingly when the four of us were there this weekend it didn't feel like we were on top of each other- I think the flat layout lends it's well to more than 2 people in it!

At least Nathan has company whilst I am down here and it will really help financially.

I think Wendy is also delighted as previously Ed was staying in the rugby club flats which are not the cleanist places in the world! I have said she can help herself to any of my cooking utensils- I think she felt she might be risking her life if she cooked with some of the pots and pans in Ed's old flat!! he he!!

So Welcome Ed and Wendy- I hope they are settling in well and making the house their home!

Train to London!

I took this photo on my train down.. to demonstrate all I saw for over 4 hours and 45 minutes!! Boring!!

I arrived safely on Tuesday 19th of August and was meant to be working for 2 weeks but now it has been extended.

My Mum's Marketing Manager has gone on sabatical and so they had a guy lined up to come on board as a Marketing Coordinator and he pulled out at the last minute- i have stepped in to look after things until they got someone else on board- they have offered the job to a lovely girl- another Jennifer from Edinburgh but she can't start until the end of September so I am back again...

No long train journey this time though!!

I was back in Edinburgh for Amber's hen weekend- sorry bridal shower weekend this past weekend and will now be down in London until the 19th of September.

It's great experience but I am missing Nathan loads!!... plus the pennies will come in very handy!!

Becky cooks us Sunday Dinner!

Becky cooked us all a gorgeous Family Sunday Dinner- it was so tasty!! She made 2 roast chickens and accompanied them with a host of roasted root vegetables.

I gave Becky a table runner and as part of her birthday present and it looked beautiful on their long dining table. I was very impressed!!
Dougie and my Dad looking up our family holiday location to Cape Cod!
I told my Grandma to smile for the photo and she went to the extreme... she makes me giggle!

A great evening was had by everyone and it was good to catch upas I was going to London on the Tuesday to work for Mum for what I thought would be two weeks.

Nathan still was away at his rugby pre season training weekend so missed out! I met up with him back at his temporary flat after dinner. I think he wished I'd brought him a goodie bag!!

Kittens!!

Are these guys not the cutest things you have EVER seen! These are my sister's friend Amy's new kittens!! A little boy and girl! They are so so cute! I feel in love! They cuddle together when they are sleeping and one of them always has a protective paw over the other- looking out for their sibling!!

They havegrown up so much already and Amy has only had tehm for a week! The photos don't even do them justice!! So so cute!
They kept trying to get into Becky and I's bags and we were convinced it was beacause they wanted to come home with us!! Although I'm sure Amy and Paul would have had something to say about that!!

Girls night in!

Friday 15th August!
Dan and Emily's Dog, Murphy!! Dressed up as an honorary female for the evening!! He loved it!! (mmm.. well he kept the bow on!) But he did love the attention! Such a flirt!

Since the boys were away for the weekend playing rugby as a pre season training down south Emily invited some of us girlies round for Chinese and a DVD.

All snuggled up on the couch! We all got our jammies on and got cosy!

About 5 minutes after I took this photo I lay back on the armchair and fell straight to sleep!! I was exhausted after being in Ireland for 5 days and staying up late! When I got back I had a day to prepare a presentation for an interview and had to travel through to Glasgow for the interview earlier on before I went round to Emily's... so I think I saw 5 minutes of the movie!

But then I felt great the next day and the other girls were a little worse for wear!! What I did stay awake for was really enjoyable! I had a great night!!

Emma and Sean- The Wee Small Hours!!

Above: Rhys and Lynne Jones, Ben and Chantelle Mayer and Myself and Nathan! These guys were on our table during the dinner and we had so much fun!! Along with Hillary and Laura.

We were playing drinking games (but ours were similar to ones you played in Brownies or Scouts!) Firstly we were all musical instruments... so round our table you had to do your musical instruments actions (I was a triangle!! Not sure why!!) and I would do my action then follow it with another... Maracas (Nathan's) then he'd have to do his followed by someone elses-and so it moved round the table- we had guitars, saxaphones and all sorts!!

Then we moved on to animals! This was the best fun and towards the end of dinner so it started to get a little noisey!! It was so funny! Then Emma's Mum, Helen (mother of the bride) joined us- she was brilliant at it!! And then Sean's 2 little nephews became part of the game (we stopped doing the drinking at this point!) They were a lion and a tiger- hard to tell the difference between their actions but so cute!!

We were such a hit (or maybe because we made so much noise!!) but the second song after Emma and Sean did their gorgeous first dance was for us- from the Jungle Book!! ' I wan'na be like you' We went crazy on the dance floor!! Such a great giggle!!

At about 12.30- 1am when the reception was finishing this brilliant Irish folk band started up in the residents bar (Emma and Sean's wedding had taken up all of the hotel so they were only keeping up their friends and family!- not that anyone except the wee ones were in bed (and they were right at the other side of the courtyard)

They played some fantastic sets and we were all singing along, arm in arm... it was a fantastic end to a brilliant day!!

I think we made it to bed about 4.30am!!! And I was so impressed as Emma and Sean (who always slope off to bed early on a night out) lasted until 4.10am!! That's good going!!This photo was taken about 3.30am! It sums up the whole day; Great fun with some amazingly brilliant entertaining people... but when all was said and done it was about these two!

I love that all this craziness is going on around them but they only have eyes for each other! Aaww! Congratulations Emma and Sean! I'm glad we could be part of your day!

Emma and Sean's Reception

The Reception was so much fun and the food was AMAZING!! I could have taken a photo of each and every one of the 5 courses!! But the venue was so quaint it made it feel really relaxed and informal... we had a fantastic time at our table and such fun on the dance floor! Singing and kicking up our heels!!
Emma and Sean with their cake- Sean is clearly delighted!! not quite sure why he is pointing!!
Emma's gorgeous Mum and Dad; Ken and Helen- they are so lovely!

The singer, Sharon (who sadly isn't pictured) was amazing!! She got everyone involved and created such a great atmosphere- all the guys here are signing traditional scottish songs! Sean with his Dad and groomsmen and Nathan (who seemed to know the words to all the songs- including being the only one who knew an Irish traditional song all the way through!! (too much rugby internationals!! ) But it was great that he joined in so much. All the girlies dancing! I have a million great photos of everyone strutting their stuff on the dance floor!
I believe the boys are trying to reenact the scene in Dirty Dancin- Patrick Swayze they are not!!
